Admissions 2025: Admission Methods and Subject Combinations for Undergraduate Enrollment at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT)

In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT) announced its preliminary undergraduate admission plan, featuring multiple flexible admission methods and diverse subject combinations, thereby creating broader opportunities for candidates.

New highlights in the 2025 admissions

One notable highlight is the addition of various Block C subject combinations to the list of admission options, including C00 (Literature, History, Geography), C01 (Literature, Mathematics, Physics), C02 (Literature, Mathematics, Chemistry), C03 (Literature, Mathematics, History), and C14 (Mathematics, Literature, Economic & Legal Education). These combinations apply to certain majors, expanding opportunities for candidates who excel in social sciences.

Additionally, to align with the new general education curriculum, HUIT has added new subject combinations featuring Mathematics, English, Informatics, and Economic & Legal Education, giving candidates more flexibility in choosing majors that match their strengths.

Notably, HUIT is also expanding its admission methods by officially incorporating the results of the specialized competency assessment exam conducted by Ho Chi Minh City University of Education. This provides more admission opportunities for candidates who follow specialized assessment pathways.

Furthermore, the university will discontinue its independent direct admission method under its own admissions roadmap but will still apply direct admission according to the Ministry of Education and Training.
For the high-school transcript–based admission method, the university will now consider full-year academic results of grades 10, 11, and 12, instead of only using the first semester of grade 12 as in previous years.

This year, HUIT also plans to open two new undergraduate programs: Tourism and Law.

Diverse Admission Methods

In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT) applies five admission methods:

✔ Method 1: Using the results of the 2025 High School Graduation Examination.

✔ Method 2: Using the academic records (GPA) of grades 10, 11, and 12.

✔ Method 3: Using the results of the 2025 Competency Assessment Exam conducted by Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.

✔ Method 4: Direct admission according to the current regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

✔ Method 5: Admission based on the results of the specialized competency assessment exam conducted by Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, combined with high school academic records according to the subject combinations corresponding to each major.
