In order to collect feedback from businesses and alumni about the training program, serving the assessment and improvement of training quality, in 2 days from 28-29 March 2019, at the Library of Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry, Faculty of Food Science and Technology organized a Workshop on Improving the Training Program from the perspective of agencies/businesses and alumni. The seminar attracted the participation of representatives of 14 employers who were graduates of the Faculty and 33 alumni representing for that of alumni at the academic courses from 01-05DH.
The content of the seminar program revolves around issues such as: The general structure appropriateness of the training program, the responsiveness level of the training program to the requirements of the labor market and society; Short-term training courses needed to supplement knowledge and skills for students prior graduation; View-point and evaluate from Faculty’s alumni and propose the cooperation to improve the training quality. The workshop was organized into 2 sessions including: Plenary session, discussing about the general issues of the structure and the content of the training program; and Group session, discussing about the specific issues for each food industry such as R&D, QA, QC, and human resource management issues in food processing plants. With a flexible and professional organization method, in-depth exploitation of relevant issues of the training program, the Organizing Committee of the Workshop has gathered many meaningful feedbacks from business representatives as well alumni. The information gathered from the workshop is a solid reference data source used by Faculty, Science and Training Board as well as Department management subjects to improve and develop the training programs.
The seminar ended with a high consensus among the parties about the cooperation to implement the orientation of the training programs, the University's mission and vision, and the promotion of the student exchange program between the Faculty and Business in the future.
