Workshop "Technology application in Agricultural product Storage & Processing"

To update the new technology in agricultural product storage and processing, for both individuals and enterprises, Agriculture HighTech Park Ho Chi Minh City and HoChiMinh University of Food Industry (HUFI) organized the workshop “Current trend of modern technology application in Agricultural product storage & processing”

Food companies, Food Science & Technology faculty, Food Safety Management Authority of HCMC, and local authorities have joined the workshop. Besides, HUFI alumni who are working in Highland Dragon Foods,  Cao Nguyen Import-Export Joint Stock Company, Lam Nong Minh Bach Cooperative,  …) also attended the workshop.

Here are the summary of key activities

Prof. Dong Thi Anh Dao- HCM University of Technology, present on the Food Quality Management System. Quality are affected by management, competence & resources…. The implementation of modern & fit quality management system generate benefits and enhance the employees’ involvement and responsibility for company activities.

PhD. Le Minh Hung, present on post harvest technologies. To meet the requirement of exported markets, agricultuture products not only follow the Good Agriculture Practice, but also need to be complied to Hygiene & Food safety requirements during harvest and packing. Irradiation, MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging), NIR  .. can be applied.

MSc. Do Thi Lan Nhi (HoChiMinh University of Food Industry-HUFI) share the solution of technology application to maintain food safety & quality from farm to consumers, as well as cost saving.

Msc. Nguyen Thi Nha Truc- Food Safety Management Authority of HCMC, present on the Food Safety through Food Chain. Only when all stages are connected to a food chain, can quality & food safety be controlled and tracked.  Communication & information channel should be improved to make consumers be updated in the list of credit food suppliers for their choices.

The workshop end with many questions & discussion, which help students to widen the knowledge and have information on real food production chain.
