Department of Aquatic Products Processing Technology

The Department of Aquatic Products Processing Technology - Faculty of Food Science and Technology - Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade was established in 2012.

  • Roles of the department:

To manage and organize the teaching of courses related to Seafood Processing Technology.

  • Department's tasks:

To implement training plans, scientific research, develop teaching plans, study, compile programs, textbooks for courses taught by the department. Organize internships for students at production facilities. Take responsibility for the quality of the training majors before the Faculty Dean.

  • Faculty team:

The department currently has 10 faculty members, all with postgraduate qualifications. Among them, there are 06 faculty members with doctoral degrees and 04 faculty members with master's degrees.

The faculty members of the department have a high level of expertise, with most of them coming from business backgrounds. They have been trained in a business environment, bringing a lot of practical experience into their teaching. The faculty members are young, energetic, and enthusiastic about their work. They have a strong sense of compliance with the Party's principles, the state's policies and laws. They strictly adhere to the school's regulations and guidelines. They have a clear understanding and firm adherence to the school's principles, policies, and regulations.

All members of the seafood department share a common belief: the University/Faculty is their second home, the best place to work, and they must preserve, care for, and protect it as they would their own home. Therefore, all members of the seafood department strictly follow the rules, regulations, and guidelines of the Faculty and University. They always share, help, and encourage each other in their professional work as well as in their personal lives.

 

 

 

TRAINING PROFESSIONS

Aquatic Products Processing Technology program provides foundational and specialized knowledge in the fields of procurement, inspection, quality assessment of raw materials, products, and the processing of aquatic products for export and domestic supermarket and restaurant chains. Specifically, students will be equipped with comprehensive knowledge in areas such as aquatic biochemistry, aquatic raw materials and post-harvest technology, frozen aquatic product processing technology, high-end aquatic products, fish sauce and dried aquatic products, surimi technology and restructured products, canned aquatic products, seaweed technology, and marine science. Additionally, students will gain expertise in quality inspection and assessment of raw materials and products, as well as courses in production management and aquatic product trade.

  • University-Level Human Resources:

    • Train technical personnel with in-depth knowledge in the field to work in production, processing, and business enterprises in the aquatic product industry.

    • Graduate engineers with a solid foundation, capable of self-learning to enhance their expertise, participating in scientific research, and contributing to specialized training in Aquatic Product Processing Technology.
  • Management and Operational Skills:

    • Equip learners with the basic knowledge necessary to manage and operate specialized activities in Aquatic Product Processing Technology.
  • Entrepreneurial and Economic Development Skills:

    • Foster individuals capable of starting their own businesses, developing the aquatic product economy, and managing production and trade enterprises in the aquatic product sector.
