On July 13th, 2022, the Faculty of Technology successfully organized the seminar “Experimental diary – Lab notebook” at Hall C, Ho Chi Minh University of Food Industry with more than 700 students.
In the seminar, Ph.D. Nguyen Thi Thuy Duong – head of the Department of Food Science shared, introduced, and guided students on the effective use of the laboratory diary during the implementation of the topics, projects, or most recently students's thesis topic.
After the seminar, students have more knowledge about :
What is a Lab notebook: is the primary source which is used to write down all the processes, materials, methods, and results of the experiments.
Lab notebooks are the foundation of scientific dissertations and articles, which is helped student hand experiences over to the next generations of researchers in the same major.
The main points of the Lab notebook include:
- + Purpose of the experiments
- + Procedures
- + Describing the experiments
- + Experimental observation
- + Write down the data
- + Results of the experiments
- + Conclusions
There are some following notices when using a Lab notebook :
- Write down all of the data whether it’s true or false
- Do not delete the incorrect data
- When you have some mistakes, please, write down the correct information and sign next to the information
- Take notes honestly
