Seminar and book introduction on aseptic processing and packaging technology for students of the Faculty of Food Technology

On the morning of December 16, 2015, at Hall C, the Faculty of Food Technology – Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry – in collaboration with Tetra Pak Vietnam, organized the program "Seminar and Book Introduction on Aseptic Processing and Packaging Technology." Nearly 50 lecturers and more than 400 students from the Faculty of Food Technology attended the seminar.

Tetra Pak is a world-leading corporation in processing solutions and paper-based packaging for liquid foods. Tetra Pak’s products help preserve the nutritional value and original flavor of packaged foods such as cream, milk, and fruit juices. Alongside its business activities, Tetra Pak actively shares new knowledge to contribute to improving the quality of technical human resources in Vietnam. One example is its frequent collaboration with universities to organize seminars introducing aseptic packaging technology to food technology students.

In the seminar, Mr. Nguyễn Long Duy, MSc, a leading UHT technology expert from Tetra Pak Vietnam, shared many practical and interesting insights with students, helping them gain a better understanding of UHT sterilization technology. This technology allows liquid products such as fresh milk, soy milk, and fruit juices on the market to have longer shelf lives while still ensuring quality and food safety. Mr. Duy also emphasized: “Health safety, usefulness, and environmental friendliness are the practical benefits offered by products processed with sterilization technology and packaged in aseptic paper cartons.”

In 2015, Tetra Pak Vietnam compiled and collaborated with the Science and Technology Publishing House to publish the 230-page book “Quality Handbook on Heat Treatment and Aseptic Packaging – Long Shelf-life Products.” This is a highly useful and essential reference for those who want to explore aseptic UHT processing technology in greater depth. During the seminar, Tetra Pak Vietnam also introduced and donated several copies of this book to students of the Faculty of Food Technology as study and research materials, especially in the field of aseptic packaging for liquid food products.

Tetra Pak’s decision to organize a seminar on aseptic processing and packaging technology, as well as to donate the handbook to the Faculty of Food Technology of Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry, has provided students with valuable opportunities to gain deeper and broader knowledge. On behalf of the faculty leadership, Ms. Trần Thị Minh Hà, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Food Technology, presented a bouquet of fresh flowers to the representative of Tetra Pak Vietnam as a heartfelt gesture of appreciation to the company’s leadership for their continuous support and knowledge-sharing, contributing to the ongoing improvement of the faculty’s training quality.
