The workshop “Application of TE-Food and Blockchain in Food Traceability System” was organized in 25th May 2019 in Hall C, Hochiminh University of Food Industry (HUFI). The presentation was delivered by PhD. Dao Ha Trung- Director of TE Food International Company. HUFI lecturers, master students and more than 200 undergraduate students attended this workshop.

The workshop has 3 sections

Section 1: Introduction of Blockchain application in Food Traceability.

When selecting food, consumers often raise many questions and concerns on the origin of product, how food safety & quality are controlled during the food chain, how authority check the source of food… Therefore blockchain technology is applied in Food Traceability System to meet market demand and enhance consumers’ benefit.

Section 2: Detail on TE-Food system – Application in Husbandry management & epidemic response plan

TE-Food is a tool for tracing & tracking food from farms to folks to make the food chain become transparency. Besides, traceability is also a key requirement form import countries, a tool to prevent food fraud and dirty food to join the chain; build the trust for consumers and and credit of producers

When using TE-Food, each product is assigned an unique code which link to the database and provide the full product information and all transactions.

Section 3- Q&A

Many question were raised, which show the interesting of students as well as lecturers in the new technology, which is very useful for Food Processing and Food Quality & Safety Management.
