Guidelines for preparation for the semi-final round - Food Innovation and Development – season 5

Based on Plan No. 18.2023/KH-KCNTP on organizing the Food Innovation and Development – Season 5 competition and the FID5 preliminary organization plan, the Organizing Committee provides the following guidelines for registered teams:

I. PRODUCT PREPARATION

  • Teams that need to borrow practice rooms of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology must register according to the regulations and contact Mr. Thi Thanh Trung at Room G406 or via email: trungtt@fst.edu.vn.
    Room usage period: from 04/03/2024 to 20/03/2024.

  • Take and keep photos of all product processing activities to use as data for writing the competition explanatory report (applies to all teams).

II. WRITING THE EXPLANATORY REPORT

  • All teams (at least 2 members per team, full participation is encouraged) must attend the online guidance session on how to write the explanatory report via MS Teams at the following link:

    Time: 9:00–10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 08, 2024

  • The Organizing Committee will answer questions related to the FID5 competition and provide preliminary feedback on draft explanatory reports via email: donglm@fst.edu.vn (Mr. Liêu Mỹ Đông).

  • Time for submitting the explanatory report file: from 11/03/2024 to 16/03/2024.

III. PARTICIPATION IN THE PRELIMINARY SELECTION

Step 1: Prepare product samples for the judges. Maximum number of tasting samples: 10 samples (5–10 g/sample or 20–30 ml/sample) and one product packaging sample (small, compact) for display in the assigned area (decoration is not compulsory).
Implementation date: Friday, 22/03/2024, from 8:00 to 16:30.

Step 2: Gather on the 3rd and 4th floors of the Library from 6:30–7:00 AM, Saturday, 23/03/2024 for attendance.

Step 3: Arrange product samples according to the Organizing Committee’s instructions from 7:00–8:00 AM, 23/03/2024.

Step 4: Gather on the 4th floor of the Library to wait for the judging process.

Step 5: From 10:00–11:30 AM, teams will listen to comments and feedback from the judges on the 3rd floor of the Library.

Step 6: From 11:00–11:30 AM, teams will clean up, tidy the area, and return borrowed equipment (if any).
