1. Objectives

Create an environment for students of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology – Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT) to connect, learn, and debate scientific issues related to food technology.

Enhance students’ proactiveness, creative thinking, and scientific debating skills.
2. Participants
-
Students from key classes 12DHTP_TD, 13DHTP_TD, 14DHTP_TD (compulsory).

All students of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology who wish to participate.

4. Competition Information
Team Formation
-
Students form their own teams.
-
Each team must consist of 03 members from 03 different cohorts (e.g., 01 student from K12, 01 from K13, 01 from K14).
Competition Structure – 4 Stages
Stage 1: Talent Search

Each team submits one video presenting their viewpoint on the topic:
“Genetically Modified Foods: Truly Beneficial or Not?”

Maximum duration: 3 minutes.

All members must speak using their real voices.

The Organizing Committee (OC) will select 08 teams with the best arguments and supporting evidence to advance to Stage 2.
Stage 2: Coaching

The 08 selected teams will draw lots to determine their topic and opponent.

After 2 weeks of preparation, teams must submit an argumentative written report via:

All teams in Stage 2 will receive intensive debate skills training.
Stage 3: Trial Round

Teams participate in live debate matches.

The OC will select 04 outstanding teams to move to Stage 4.

Stage 3 includes 2 sessions, each session featuring 2 debate matches.
Stage 4: Shine & Advance

The 04 teams prepare 03 assigned topics.

After 2 weeks, teams must submit their written arguments via:

Teams then undergo advanced debate coaching to prepare for the final round.

The 04 teams will compete in two semifinal debates to determine the top 2, who will advance to the final matchfor the championship.
Additional Training Sessions (Optional)
The OC will also host extra training sessions for teams wishing to strengthen debate-related skills. If enough participants register, training will be held on Sundays.
