Sports Festival program – Faculty of Food Science and Technology 2024 - Semester II, Academic Year 2023–2024

 

I. OBJECTIVES AND REQUIREMENTS

Objectives

  • Create a healthy and meaningful playground for students, contributing to physical development.
  • Provide opportunities for learning, and strengthening connections among students across cohorts of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology.

Requirements

  • Competition attire includes comfortable sportswear (the university physical education uniform is encouraged) and sports shoes. The Organizing Committee (OC) reserves the right to deny participation if a student does not meet attire requirements.
  • Each team must have a cheering squad.
  • The team captain is the official representative and responsible for all matters related to the team.
  • Event scheduling must align with students’ academic and exam timetables.
  • Promote discipline, unity, and sportsmanship in competition and cheering.
  • Ensure close coordination with involved units to ensure a successful event.

II. EVENT ORGANIZATION

1. Time and Venue

  • Time: March 24, 2024
  • Proposed venue: Dạ Phi Cơ Football Field (73/1 Nguyễn Đỗ Cung, Tây Thạnh Ward, Tân Phú District, Ho Chi Minh City)

2. Participants

  • Students from Youth Union branches of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology.

3. EVENT ACTIVITIES

a. Tug of War

Team formation

  • Each team consists of 10 members (7 female, 3 male), with a maximum of 2 classes combined per team.

Competition format

  • Two teams stand in two lines facing each other, holding opposite ends of a rope with a colored marker at the center.
  • Upon the referee’s signal, both teams pull until the marker crosses their designated line.
  • Each match consists of up to 3 rounds; the team winning 2 out of 3 advances.

Regulations

  • Teams absent after 3 referee calls are disqualified.
  • Teams may substitute up to 2 members after Round 1 of each match.
  • The last member must not wrap the rope around their hands or body.
  • Participants must not touch the ground with any body part other than their feet; violations result in losing that round.

b. Flag Capture

Team formation

  • Each team consists of 7 members, maximum 2 classes combined.
  • Members wear numbered shirts from 01 to 07.

Competition format

  • Teams stand behind designated lines. A flag is placed at the center.
  • When the referee calls a number, that member runs to capture the flag and return.
  • The team whose member successfully crosses their line with the flag wins the round.
  • Each match has 3 rounds; the team winning 2 out of 3 advances.

Regulations

  • Teams absent after 3 calls are disqualified.
  • If a player holding the flag is tagged before crossing the line, the point goes to the tagging team.

c. Ball Passing

Team formation

  • Each team consists of 10 members, with a maximum of 2 classes combined.

Competition format

  • Four teams form four lines. Each team receives 10 spoons of five different sizes.
  • Members hold spoons with their mouths and pass the ball from the first to the last member.
  • The last member must pass obstacles and place the ball into a basket for scoring.
  • The two teams with the highest score advance.

Regulations

  • Teams absent after 3 calls are eliminated.
  • Members may not use hands; spoons only.
  • If a ball drops, it must restart from the first member.

d. Online Running

Participation format

  • Students may join individually or as a class.

Competition format

  • Students download the UPRACE app, create an account, and enter personal information (format: CNTP–CLASS–FULL NAME).

  • Fill in the approval form: https://forms.gle/hDLGC943Poji59rD7
  • Student distance is recorded using a phone or smartwatch.
  • Participants may run/walk multiple times per day; no limit.
  • Pace must be between 4 and 15 min/km.
  • Completion requirement: 42 km within 14 days for certificate and 4 conduct points.

Recognition

  • Individuals with the longest distances receive First, Second, and Third prizes.
  • Classes with the highest cumulative distance receive the collective prize.

Technical requirements
Activities are valid only when:

  • Distance is recorded after joining the event
  • Pace and GPS data meet criteria

Invalid activities include:

  • Overlapping timestamps
  • Missing route maps
  • Treadmill runs
  • Non-public sessions

Fraud leads to disqualification. OC decisions are final.

5. REGISTRATION DOCUMENTS

  • Team captains compile registration lists using the Excel template and send via email to: lcdkhoacntp@gmail.com
  • Email subject: “Class – List of Students Participating in Sports Festival 2024”
  • Deadline: 16:00, March 17, 2024

6. COMPLAINTS AND DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS

Complaints

  • All complaints must be submitted in writing and signed by the Team Captain. Complaints related to participant eligibility will be handled immediately by the Organizing Committee (OC).
  • If evidence is insufficient for an immediate conclusion, the team will be allowed to compete temporarily while the OC conducts further verification. The final decision will be communicated to the complainant.
  • During the complaint review period, teams must strictly follow all instructions and directives from the OC.
  • The OC will strictly handle violations involving ineligible participants or participants not listed on the official team roster.
  • All participants have both the right and responsibility to report violations of the Competition Rules or Regulations. Complaints must be in writing and include the minimum necessary evidence to allow the OC to consider and resolve the issue.
  • Teams facing complaints must present complete documentation of the team and the individual(s) involved. If the team or participant fails to provide the required documents, the OC's decision will be final.

Disciplinary Actions

  • Any individual or team violating the Regulations, OC directives, or exhibiting behaviors such as withdrawing or encouraging others to withdraw will be subject to disciplinary actions. Penalties range from reprimands and warnings to disqualification and annulment of results, depending on the severity of the violation.
  • False complaints will result in formal warnings, and the team submitting a false accusation may have points deducted from their total score (as decided by the OC).
