HUFI visits and works with C.P. Vietnam Corporation (CP.VN)

In order to strengthen cooperation between the university and enterprises, on the morning of July 29, Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry (HUFI) conducted a working session and site visit at C.P. Vietnam Corporation (CP.VN).

  • Mr. Bùi Trọng Phú – Deputy General Director (in charge of the Southern Food Business Sector)

  • Mr. Worachai Wunsasueb – Assistant to the Deputy General Director, responsible for CP Food Củ Chi Factory

  • Ms. Nguyễn Thị Thanh Ngọc – Assistant to the Deputy General Director (Strategic Human Resources)

  • Mr. Lê Hoàng Chương – Assistant to the Deputy General Director (HR Recruitment & Communications)

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the achievements obtained throughout their cooperation. Over the past six years since the HUFI–CP.VN partnership began, 181 HUFI alumni are now working at C.P. Vietnam, including:

  • 02 alumni appointed as Production/Business Directors at Bioctic Đồng Nai and Frozen Bến Tre

  • 04 alumni appointed as department heads

  • At CP Food Củ Chi Factory, more than 20% of employees are HUFI alumni

In addition, C.P. Vietnam has consistently supported HUFI students through activities such as company tours, internships, recruitment programs, career orientation, and academic competitions. In the CP Future Leader Program (FLP), HUFI alumni were honored to lead new business projects that have now evolved into the CP Green – Organic Farm brand.

Regarding upcoming cooperation directions, Mr. Phú emphasized:

“This partnership brings benefits to all stakeholders. Participating in the training process is a form of investment for businesses, enabling them to select high-quality human resources and reduce training costs.”

He highlighted several key upcoming collaboration points:

  • Signing a partnership to develop an internship curriculum (enterprise semester) for HUFI students at C.P. Vietnam

  • Expanding recruitment to include 30–40% economics majors, in addition to technical fields

  • Recruiting HUFI students for the FLP – Future Leader Program

  • Sending CP specialists to provide workshops on career orientation, soft skills, and startup mentoring

  • Participating in HUFI’s major annual events

Dr. Thanh highly appreciated the dedication and support from C.P. Vietnam for HUFI’s staff and students, and agreed with CP’s proposed cooperation directions. He emphasized:

“This partnership will improve training quality, enhance student employability, and strengthen HUFI’s financial autonomy. It will also help students adjust their mindset, improve motivation, and gain practical skills and experience.”

He also proposed additional collaboration ideas:

  • Human resource development and training

  • Learning experiences at C.P. Vietnam (internships, FLP, enterprise semester)

  • Co-developing training programs and technology transfer

  • Supporting innovation and student entrepreneurship

  • Creating a model where bachelor graduates can pursue the engineer degree through an enterprise semester with CP participation

  • Sending top HUFI students (engineering & honor programs) to train with CP

  • Joint recruitment and upskilling programs for CP employees

Both parties agreed to finalize the cooperation agreement for an expanded signing ceremony on August 26, 2022.

After the meeting, HUFI representatives toured CP’s facilities, including smart management models, modern production lines, and advanced laboratories at the CP Food Củ Chi Factory.

With flexibility in development strategy and strong reputation among society and businesses, HUFI always welcomes collaborations based on mutual benefit and student-centered development.
