The Faculty of Food Technology accompanies the project “TE-FOOD Livestock Management and Emergency Disease Prevention” in Đồng Nai

On the morning of April 23, 2019, a delegation of lecturers and students from the Faculty of Food Technology attended the training conference on the TE-FOOD System titled “Livestock Management and Emergency Disease Prevention”in Đồng Nai Province. The conference was organized by the Đồng Nai Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in collaboration with TE-FOOD International.

At the conference, Dr. Đào Hà Trung, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Association and Chairman of TE-FOOD International, introduced the TE-FOOD software system in detail. The system supports livestock management and disease control and demonstrates the effectiveness of applying high technology to herd management and epidemic tracking. He explained how the TE-FOOD system operates and the benefits it provides to farmers and state management authorities.

Additionally, conference participants were guided by TE-FOOD International technicians on how to install and operate the management software. After the training, local authorities will begin promoting and implementing the program to farmers throughout Đồng Nai Province.

The participation of the Faculty of Food Technology is the first activity following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry, the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Association, and TE-FOOD International on April 22, 2019. According to the agreement, the Faculty of Food Technology will collaborate with TE-FOOD International to implement activities under the project “TE-FOOD – Livestock Management and Emergency Disease Prevention” in provinces across the country.

At the same time, TE-FOOD International will support the Faculty in training on supply chain traceability using Industry 4.0 technologies; provide hands-on practice sessions for lecturers and students; and later help organize training for farmers, staff, government agencies, and blockchain technology applications.

According to the plan, on May 12, 2019, TE-FOOD International representatives will hold a seminar at Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry to speak with Food Technology students about the TE-FOOD software system and the application of Blockchain technology in supply chain traceability. This activity will help students access modern technologies in traceability and quality management within the food supply chain, thereby improving the quality of human resources in the university’s Food Technology program.
