Faculty of Food Science and Technology has policy of increasing international cooperation, exchanging and learning experience with leading specialists and organizations in food field. International cooperation is one of useful activity to increase training quality and scientific research.
In recent years, Faculty of Food Science and Technology has developed continuously. Especially, training scale has risen, trained professions have been broaden; quality, training effectiveness has increased, scientific research activity has been promoted. So, international cooperation became urgent need.
Through international cooperation, lecturers can approach new technologies and techniques; lectures and textbooks are updated positively and contextualized internationally. From that, application of new, positive things to teaching work with the purpose of increasing training quality.

Lastly, Faculty of Food Science and Technology continuously has international cooperation program such as: cooperating with U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and U.S Department of Agriculture to held international conference of “Food defense”; associating with Malaysian palm oil Association to held the conference of “Palm oil production technology”, associating with Ghent University – Belgium, Nutrition Institute (Vienna University, Austria) in the program of training masters of food technology major; cooperating with some universities in the world to build training program of Food quality assurance and safety; cooperating with Italian Trade Commission to establish experimental model for canned tomato production and some tomato products; cooperating with Moscow State University of Food Production in training food technology engineers with form of on-site studying abroad; cooperating with Okayama Institute of Science and Technology in training interns of food technology major…
Working session with Italian Trade Commission
On October 23rd, 2019, Faculty of Food Science and Technology, HCMC University of Food Industry (HUFI) signed memorandum of understanding for cooperation of training with College of Science and technology, Kyungpook National University (KNU) at the basement of KNU in Sangju, Korea.
With this memorandum of understanding, both sides unified in period of 2020 – 2024 will increasing academic exchange activity for undergraduate students, cooperating in training and developing lecturer team, promoting research activity of food science and technology. With that, from 2020, both sides will exchange 5 undergraduate students at HUFI and KNU. Each student will participate exchange program in 1 semester (5 months) and can register for maximum 6 subjects (equivalent 16 credits), with free school fee and domiciles in university’s campus.

In coming time, Faculty of Food Science and Technology will continue to promote international cooperation activity; searching positively counterparts which are training organizations, doing scientific researches in nations with advanced technology, meeting requirement of economic international integration. We would like to broaden cooperation with counterparts at nations with advanced professions that are interested by many students in fields of food production – processing – business.
