STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF FOOD SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY WON THE 1ST PRIZE AT THE SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY AWARDS FOR STUDENTS 2022

In the morning of December 9, 2022, in Hanoi, an awarding ceremony to summarize and award the Science and Technology Awards 2022 for students in educational institutes was coordinatedly organized by the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Science & Technology.

The contest has attracted 94 universities nationwide to participate with 416 topics, of which 336 topics are valid with full results of scientific publication and application. Students nationwide participated in the contest in 6 fields including: Natural Science (38 topics); Science, Engineering and Technology (74 topics); Medical and pharmaceutical sciences (17 topics); Agricultural Science (24 topics); Social Sciences (168 topics); Humanities (15 topics). The group of students from the Faculty of Food Science and Technology - Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry including Duong Thi Hong Phuong, Vo Thi Hong Nhung, Tran Thi Huynh Nhu, Le Thi Yen Lin, Nguyen Ngoc Diem Hang and their instructor MSc. Nguyen Hoang Anh has successfully overcome more than 70 topics in the field of Science, Engineering and Technology to win the first prize in the field with the topic "Research on the production process of instant rice".

The HUFI student group was honored with the First Prize in the field of Science, Engineering and Technology and received the Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training.

The topic was inspired by the need of shortening the time to prepare family meals but still bring full of nutrients in the fast-paced rhythm of life. The use of instant rice saves a lot of cooking time, helping consumers, especially modern women, have more time to devote, contribute to the development of society, increase income for themselves and their family. Instant rice products provide maximum convenience for consumers and contribute to diversifying products from Vietnam's key rice industry. 

The research results and practical products of the project were highly appreciated by the Jury Board for the perfection of products, applicability, and technology transfer to businesses. The product display booth of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry also attracted a lot of attention from delegates from universities, businesses, press agencies and other competition teams.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry was also awarded the Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training and honored as an education institution with outstanding achievements in science and technology for students in 2022.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Hong Anh, on behalf of HUFI, received the Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training for the collective with excellent achievements in organizing scientific research activities of students in 2022. 

Science and technology awards for students in educational institutes are held annually to seek and develop scientific research among students and promote scientific research activities at universities. This has helped students' scientific research activities create a great spread in universities throughout the country in terms of quantity and quality. Many scientific research projects of the winning students were funded by domestic and foreign organizations and businesses and facilitated the establishment of start-up businesses; Many projects have had research results published in prestigious domestic and foreign scientific journals.
