MOA signed between Faculty of Food Science and Technology (HUFI, Vietnam) and College of Science and Technology (KNU, Republic of Korea)

The signing ceremony of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Faculty of Food Science and Technology (FST), Hochiminh City University of Food Industry (HUFI- Vietnam) and the College of Science and Technology, Kyungpook National University (KNU- Republic of Korea) was officially held on 23th, October 2019 at KNU Sangju Campus.

The agenda in the MOA includes: (1) academic exchange for undergraduate students at HUFI and KNU; (2) staff training and development; and (3) collaborative resear­­­­ch in the field of food science and technology.

The MOA was signed by Assoc. Prof. Le Thi Hong Anh- Dean of FST, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thuy Duong- Head of Department of Food Science (HUFI) and Prof. Kim Tae Wook- Dean of College of Science and Technology, Prof. Cheigh Chan Ick- Head of Department of Food and Food Service Industry (KNU). Attending the ceremony, from KNU there were Prof. Lee Won Hee- Vice Dean, Prof. Kang Woo Won, Prof. Kim Jong Kuk and Prof. Nam Jang Hyeon; from HUFI there were Ms. Hoang Thi Truc Quynh and Ms. Do Mai Nguyen Phuong.

After the MOA signing ceremony, the FST delegation visited Bio-Pilot Plant, Scientific Instruments Centre, Department of Food and Food Service Industry, School of Food Science and Biotechnology. The FST members also had various meetings with Professors at KNU to discuss academic and educational cooperation.

Kyungpook National University was founded in 1946. The university comprises of 17 colleges and 68 departments located at Daegu and Sangju. The total enrolled students are 36,000 including 30,000 undergraduate and 6,000 graduate students. KNU ranked 1st among Korean National Universities (2018).

Signing the MOA with the College of Science and Technology (KNU) is a milestone for the Faculty of Food Science and Technology (HUFI). Both parties look forward to taking the next steps towards cooperation and will be able to achieve fruitful results.
