Currently, with the goal of training engineers and bachelors to meet the demands of society, training associated with practical production, the Faculty of Food Science and Technology (FST) has combined classroom learning with field trip visitting and internships to help students mature and have more career opportunities after graduation.
In addition to the school time, students of the FST are also facilitated in extracurricular learning to have a more intuitive view of practical work and know how the outside world is operating through the "Visitting for practice" course. Accordingly, this course equips students with methods to apply and analyze fundamental as well as specialized knowledge in the field of food technology and safety to explain problems in the food production facilities. At the same time, the course contributes to the formation of practical approaching skills, observing, recording, finalizing and reporting; forging a sense of discipline, honesty, responsibility, proactively exploring; skills to work independently and team work, as well as to apply learned knowledge compared with actual knowledge in the food production facilities.
In order to implement and maintain the goals, the FST has cooperated with many reputable enterprises in the food industry to organize factory visits for thousands of students in each semester from 2019 - 2022. More especially, during this period, due to the difficulties in the Covid 19 pandemic, FST has cooperated with enterprises such as Ajinomoto Vietnam Co., Ltd., Yakult Vietnam Co., Ltd. to deploy online training to help students have a visual of the factories and keep up with the studying schedule.
