On October 6, 2023, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT) and Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), marking the initiation of a comprehensive partnership in the fields of education, scientific research, and technology transfer. This collaboration aims to elevate the standing of both institutions on the national and global stage. The signing ceremony took place at MATE's headquarters in Budapest, Hungary.

Representing HUIT at the signing ceremony were Ass. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Hong Anh, Vice-Rector of the university, and several faculty members from the Faculty of Food Science and Technology (FST). MATE was represented by Dr. István Szabó, Vice Rector, and two Deputy Deans of the Institute of Food Science and Technology (ÉTTI) – MATE, namely Dr. Zoltán Kovács and Dr. Nguyen Duc Quang.

During the event, the representatives from both institutions introduced their respective histories, development journeys, annual activities, and notable achievements. This marks the beginning of an exciting partnership between HUIT, the Faculty of Food Science and Technology, and MATE, the Institute of Food Science and Technology.

As per this agreement, both institutions will jointly pursue various initiatives, including:

- Student, faculty, and professorial exchanges.

- Collaboration on academic matters.

- Cooperation in scientific research activities.

- Coordination in publishing and disseminating research work.

- Partnership in technology transfer.

Following the signing ceremony, the HUIT delegation continued their visit by exploring various laboratories and engaging with departments within the Institute of Food Science and Technology (ÉTTI) at MATE.
