In the afternoon of 29/06/2019, the Faculty of Food Science and Industry, HCMC University of Food Industry held a scientific conference in 2019 in Hall C. People participating conference program included Faculty Management Board, members of Scientific and training Committee, lecturers as well as preresentative of different classes’ students at Faculty of Food Science and Technology. The conference was held in order to build positive and open academic environment, so that learners could share and exchange experience and scientific matters in doing research to increase training and research qualitty, to develop model of university with applied and advanced researches. Besides, the Conference was the place for meeting and exchanging between scientists of different universities, faculties with students with passion of science and technology.

Speaking for conference opening, Assoc. Pr. Dr. Le Thi Hong Anh, Dean of Faculty of Food Science and Technology affirmed that the scientific research activity of students at Faculty of Food Science and Technology is especially regarded and facilitated by Faculty management board to increase effectiveness and quality. Holding annual conferences for students is one of activities to acknowledge and record research results of learners, through that improve spillover of science passion in faculty’s student, motivate students to development ideas in studying.

The conference not only mentioned results of scientific research activity in 2018-2019 of lecturers and students of Faculty of Food Science and Technology but also proposed direction for science and technology activities of new school year, shared precious experience to improve activity of searching, studying, increase ability and standard of lecturers and students. Some of noteworthy special subjects this year were: evaluation of mold infection and toxin generation in rice and paddy, applications of microorganism in food storage, extraction of bioactive compounds from fruits and vegetables, study of customer behavior.

After each authors’ group preresentation, there was academic exchange part. A lot of questions were made by lecturers and students that joined in the conference, knowledge and experience withdrawn from scientific research process were shared by reporters, the conference atmosphere became very excited.
Lecturers and students discusses about reported subjects
With more than 80 articles submitted for reviewing, the conference scientific board chose 30 excellent articles published in conference’s proceeding; in those, 05 most excellent were chosen for reporting at the conference. Remarkably, author groups and reporters at conference were students of Faculty of Food Science and Technology. After main working part, science board of the conference calssified excellent articles to give awards as each item. Detailed results were as follow:
