Activity With Special Subject “Technical Sales – Career Chance and Challenges

On May 18th, 2019, in Hall C, HCMC University of Food Industry, Food Science and Technology Club cooperated with MQ International Limited Liability Company to hold seminar “Technical sales – Career chance and challenges” with new and practical content, giving students a new angle of view of career trend in the future.

Presenter Nguyen Cong Dung – CEO of MQ International Limited Liability Company

 

Getting to the activity with special subject, Mr. Nguyen Cong Dung – CEO of MQ International Limited Liability Company – a fore-runner with many years of experience in field of Technical Sales shared necessary informations relating the job of technical sale consulting. The program attracted the participation of more than 300 students of Faculty of Food Science and Technology with three main parts:

Part 1: Introduction of working position of Technical sales employee

In the first part of the program, Mr Dung helped students to understand about the position of technical sale enginee: that is selling items for industrial production, selling B2B (Business to Business) as well as their role in the company. According to Mr Dung, technical sales is different with consumer goods sales at one point, that is the customer’s requirement of high trust for the technical sales engineer. The charactersitics of this job is selling industrial goods with high value for companies so besides speciality knowledge, there is the requirement of experience, profession and durability to follow customers for long time. Technical sales engineers must reaaly persuade customers to trust their products and trust sale engineers.

Mr Dung emphasized necessary factors of employee applying for technical sales position is “ready” behavior, next are skills of speciality and finally knowledge of major. The behavior is the seriousness in listening to customers’ needs, seriousness in learning products, major as well as seriousness in following customers. When technical sales employees really focus on learning company and competitor’s products, they feel confident in consulting exact items that can solve current problems of customers, from that creating customers’ trust and reputation for themselves in business field. Besides, like other sales employee, technical sales employee needs the passion for work, skills of communication, negotiation, persuasion skills and especially confedent and professional appearance to create trust of customers

Part 2: Introduction of website Foodtech master.vn

In the second part, Mr Dung shared the website Foodtech master.vn for students – a website to exchange matters relating Food technology, created by himself with the purpose of sharing, spreading knowledge of Food technology for community. The website Foodtech master.vn is a place for students to study and discuss matters relating works as well as updating news and informations of Food technlology field. Besides, this is a place to share knowledge, to connect to develop because of benefits, value and success of each member in this group. Students with interest can access website www.foodtechmaster.vn to have helpful information.

Part 3 – Answering questions

Third part of the program is discussing and answering questions. Mr Dung answered questions of students about matters relating work positions like: Technical sales, R&D,…shared experiences of job interview and skills, experiences that student can prepare when they are still studying at school.

To end the special subject, student watched a instpirational and meaningful clip about drawing the picture of oneself’s life. Mr Dung ended the presentation by suggesting question” By using different color blotches, each of us will draw life picture, how will you drw your own picture?

Part 4: Giving books and consolidation scholarships

Getting to the activity of special subject, Mr Dung not only brought necessary information of technical sales for audiences but also spreaded enthusiasm to improve oneself, to develop work by giving many books of life and business for students joined positively in the program. Simultaneously, in order to encourage students to try more improving themselves, to prepare steadily for future, the representative of MQ International Limited Liability Company – Mr Nguyen Cong Dung also gave consolidation scholarship for encouraging studying for 10 students that had many contributions in activities of Faculty of Food Science and Technology recently.

The special subjects took place in exciting atmosphere and the enthusiastic response of students, to help students understand more about new work position in the future, from that to study harder.
