A Journey of Growth, Courage, and Intellectual Excellence
The FST Debate 2025 – Season 2 has officially come to an end, marking a journey of tremendous effort, resilience, and maturity from all competing teams of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology.
With topics revolving around urgent and practical issues in the field of food and technology, this year’s competition once again affirmed the importance of academic debating in developing students’ critical thinking and presentation skills.
Grand Finale – Stage 4: Shine
The Final Round took place on the morning of May 8, 2025, featuring two debate stages:
Round 1 – Individual Brilliance: In this challenge, each contestant had to demonstrate strong argumentative skills, defend their viewpoints confidently, and respond to tough questions from the judges on the following topics:

“Higher taxes should be imposed on unhealthy foods.”

“Fast food can be made healthier.”
-
“Insects will be the main protein source in the future.”
After the three topics were completed, total scores were added, and two teams advanced to the next round: Angle allies and fla_mingo
Round 2 – Shine Together: This round showcased the best teamwork and debate training the top two teams had developed. With strong presentation, logical coordination, and sharp rebuttals, they engaged in one of the most intense debates of the entire competition on the topic:
“Can AI and automation completely replace humans in food production?”
The judges could not resist giving multiple “likes” in agreement with the arguments presented!
