Another summer has come to an end – not with scorching heat, but with smiles, sweat, and the warm eyes of local residents, children, and the very own green-shirted volunteers.

Cluster 2 – including the Youth Union of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology and the Faculty of Fashion & Garment Technology – together created a meaningful journey across Gò Vấp and Tân Phú Districts (Ho Chi Minh City). Every green footprint left behind became a piece of a vibrant summer mosaic — filled with volunteer spirit and heartfelt connection.

A JOURNEY OF CONNECTION – SPREADING LOVE

• Public Administrative Support: Days of continued assistance to local residents with administrative procedures, making the process faster and more convenient. Particularly for the elderly or those with limited access to technology and communication challenges, the presence of volunteers not only shortened waiting time but also brought a sense of friendliness, closeness, and trust.

• Though silent and unseen, this work served as a strong bridge between youth volunteers and the community — where enthusiasm was conveyed through simple yet meaningful actions.

• Summer Activities for Children: Lively playgrounds were created in residential areas, allowing children to play and learn in a friendly and joyful environment. The green-shirted volunteers meticulously prepared creative activities and physical games that brought laughter, confidence, connection, and skill development. Each session was a journey of sharing positive energy and love — with small gifts as gentle encouragement for innocent and pure childhoods.

• Candle-Lighting Ceremony to Honor Martyrs: A sacred moment in the middle of the vibrant volunteer journey. When night fell, all volunteers stood in silence beside the graves, holding small candles to honor those who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation. The candlelight did not just illuminate the cemetery — it warmed memories and awakened the spirit of “When drinking water, remember its source” in every young heart.

• In the solemn space, every gaze and gesture carried deep gratitude — like a silent promise that today’s generation will continue to preserve and promote the values that were paid for with blood and sacrifice.

• Sharing Love: At the Gò Vấp Children’s Foster and Protection Center, volunteers held a visit and offered small yet heartfelt gifts to children with special circumstances. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, innocence, and excitement. Gifts were given, smiles were exchanged — genuine and touching. Love was spread without needing many words — only an open heart to listen and empathize.

• Though brief, that afternoon left unforgettable memories for every young volunteer — about connection, kindness, and the simple beauty between people.

KNOWLEDGE IN ACTION

More than volunteering — the campaign was also a chance for students to apply knowledge in real-life practice:

• Participating in the Fire Prevention & Rescue Campaign at Hà Kiều Apartment (Gò Vấp): Volunteers worked alongside local authorities and residents to promote fire safety awareness and advocate the removal of “iron cage balconies” to ensure emergency exits — contributing to building a safe and civilized community.

• Environmental Protection & Waste Sorting at Source: Education on waste sorting was conducted creatively through engaging games, helping children easily understand and remember environmental knowledge. The trash bin decoration contest attracted enthusiastic participation – turning bins into colorful and meaningful reminders of environmental responsibility.

• Donations to Students in Need: Ten gift packages and cash donations were presented to disadvantaged students — as practical encouragement and motivation for them to pursue education and overcome obstacles in life.

A SUMMER NOT ONLY GREEN – BUT FULL OF RESPONSIBILITY & GROWTH

Each volunteer stepped out of their comfort zone — to listen, understand, share, and grow. Discipline, teamwork, and responsibility were reflected in every action and smile.
